My Vegetable Garden

If you knew me, you'd wonder why a retired grandma has a garden like this.

Well, I live next door to my daughter who has a large family. Not only do I get to see my grandchildren every day, but I'm trying to be a role model to them!

I work hard to keep up my garden, and it is a LABOR of love. I wish my daughter could help me more, because it's a lot of work to keep out the weeds, harvest the vegetables, and freeze and home-can them for our family.

But I'm rewarded each winter when we enjoy all our canned green beans, and tomatoes, and also frozen corn and peas from my garden.

I'm thinking about scaling back some next year, because it's a lot of work, but come spring...we'll see.
