Get the Dirt Newsletter: A watercolor garden calendar for 2027
October 10, 2026

Hi gardeners,

The leaves are turning, the canning jars are filled up, and it's time to start thinking about the holidays.

This week I have three new free printables that make lovely homemade gifts, plus a card game for the kids.

NEW: Free printable 2027 garden calendar

Twelve months of watercolor garden pictures, from a snowy January garden to the autumn harvest.

Meet your garden helper. A little spaniel puppy keeps you company all through 2027. She watches the snow fall in January, peeks at the seedlings in spring, guards the strawberry patch in June, and curls up by the fire when the garden sleeps in December.

It seems she also helped with the canning in September.

Look for her on every page!

Each month has a full date grid with room to write in planting days and garden chores.

Print it for your kitchen wall, or print an extra copy as a Christmas gift for a gardening friend. Print your free 2027 calendar: free-printable-garden-calendar.html

NEW: Free printable gift tags

Jars of jam, a bag of dried herbs, or a basket from the garden all look prettier with a handmade tag.

There are garden, harvest, autumn, Thanksgiving, and Christmas designs, plus folded gift cards with room for a short note.

A bag of roasted hazelnuts from our family farm, with a handwritten tag, is one of my favorite Christmas gifts to give.

NEW: Free printable garden stationery

A handwritten note still means more than any email.

Choose from six watercolor letter paper designs, lined or unlined, and fourteen folded note cards for thank-yous, birthdays, and holiday letters.

Print a few for yourself, or tie a stack with ribbon for a sweet gift.

For the kids: Vegetable Go Fish card game

Rainy afternoons are perfect for a card game.

Print the free Vegetable Go Fish cards, cut them apart, and play the classic game with garden vegetables instead of numbers.

There are six card sets to choose from, so little ones learn their vegetables while they play.

NEW: Small vegetable garden plans

No room for a big garden? My new small garden plans page has eight easy layouts for raised beds, patios, and even a single half barrel.

The half-barrel salad garden is a good one to start now. Lettuce, arugula, and other leafy greens are cool-weather crops, so they grow happily in fall. (Save the tomato for spring/summer.)

Plant transplants soon and you can be picking fresh salads well into autumn, and longer with a frost cover.

Happy gardening,

Charlotte

P.S. Know someone who loves to garden or give homemade gifts? Forward this email to them. The calendar, gift tags, stationery, and garden plans are all free to print as many times as they like.
