These crowns were a family effort. My niece suggested party crowns to go with our banner letters, and my daughter had the idea for the round age circle, since most crowns are made for birthdays. My grandson tested them, and asked for cowboys.
We printed and cut test crowns at the kitchen table until the patterns were small enough to show whole pictures all the way across the band, and the circle sat just right in the middle.
A garden party is easy to put together: a banner across the porch, a crown for every child, a pitcher of lemonade, and a jar of flowers from the garden. Spell the birthday child's name with our free printable banner letters, set the table with free printable place cards, and fill little gift boxes with party favors.
Send everyone home with seeds. A packet of sunflower or bean seeds in our free printable seed packets is a party favor that keeps growing all summer. Sunflowers, beans, and peas are big seeds that small hands can plant, and the National Garden Bureau has more easy flowers and vegetables for children. Afterward, write a note on our free printable thank you cards.
