  • Is it too Early to Plant Lettuce?

    planting lettuce

My uncle Jack always gets his lettuce seeds planted about this time of the year.

He made a little frame for his raised lettuce bed using plastic tubing.

He covers the frame with clear plastic, and holds it in place with staples.

The plastic traps the solar heat, and helps warm the soil.

The lettuce seeds will germinate and start to grow.

The plastic also protects the lettuce plants from hard frosts.

So you might give planting some early lettuce seeds a try!

    Planting Onions
