How to Play This Garden Game for Kids

Little Gardener is made for children ages 3 to 6. First pick a garden: the Vegetable Garden, the Berry Patch, the Flower Garden, or the Fruit Orchard. Then pick one of three games.

Every right answer on the first try earns a gold star. A wrong tap never buzzes. The game just says "Good try! Look again," so little ones can keep going without feeling bad.

What Your Child Learns

Little ones learn best by doing, and this garden game for kids lets them practice three skills at once. Tapping each picture while the game counts aloud builds one-to-one counting, the step that comes before adding. Hearing a name while looking at the picture builds vocabulary, and seeing the printed word under it is an early start on reading.

Planting the raised bed teaches planning. Your child decides what goes where, counts what they planted, and sees the whole garden at once. Many children want to plant the same garden for real after this, and that's the best part.

Take it outside when you can. A few radish or lettuce seeds in a pot or a corner of the garden will sprout in about a week, and a child who has counted carrots on the screen will be thrilled to pull a real one.

Print a Junior Gardener Certificate

Type your child's name at the top of the game, then click "Print my Junior Gardener certificate." It prints on one page, with your child's name, the date, the stars they earned, and a line for a grown-up to sign.

There's no sign-up and nothing to download. The game works on a computer, a tablet, or a phone.
