    Strawberry freezer jam recipes are made using Fruit Jell Freezer Jam.

    Freezer jam pectin is used only for jams stored in the freezer orrefrigerator.

    Some of the jam recipes we list do not require any cooking.

    Old-fashioned Strawberry Freezer Jam Recipe

    2 cups crushed strawberries

    4 cups sugar

    ¾ cup water

    1 box powdered pectin

  • Stir strawberries and sugar in bowl.

  • Bring water and pectin to boil.

  • Boil one minute, stirring constantly.

  • Add pectin mixture to fruit and stir 3 minutes.

  • Pour into half pint Mason jars to within one inch of top.

  • Put on lid and band tight.

  • Let stand at room temperature for 24 hours or until set.

  • Freeze.

  • Yields 6 half-pints.

    Banana-Strawberry Freezer Jam Recipe

    3 large bananas

    3 cups crushed strawberries

    1 ½ cups sugar

    1 freezer jam pectin pouch

  • Select fully-ripe strawberries with a deep-red color.

  • Discard immature and defective fruit.

  • Wash strawberries, drain.

  • Remove caps.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  • Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

  • Place unpeeled bananas on baking sheet.

  • Bake for 15 minutes. Cool.

  • Peel and crush bananas.

  • Measure 1 cup crushed bananas.

  • Combine in a medium sized bowl the strawberries, bananas, and sugar.

  • Let fruit in bowl stand for 15 minutes.

  • Slowly stir pectin into fruit and sugar mix.

  • Stir mixture for 3 minutes.

  • Then, let mix stand for 5 minutes.

  • Spoon jam into can or freeze wide mouthed jars, freezer bags, orplastic containers.

  • Leave ½ inch headroom.

  • Adjust two piece lids if using jars.

  • Label and freeze.

  • Yields about five pints.
  • Triple Berry Freezer Jam Recipe

    2 cups crushed strawberries

    1 cup crushed red raspberries

    1 cup crushed blackberries

    1 ½ cups sugar

    1 freezer jam pectin pouch

  • Select ripe firm berries.

  • Rinse berries in cold water.

  • Dry fruit on paper towels.

  • Discard soft, under ripe or defective fruits.

  • Remove stems.

  • Combine into a medium sized bowl the strawberries, raspberries,blackberries, and sugar.

  • Let the fruit and sugar sit for 15 minutes.

  • Slowly stir pectin into the fruit mix.

  • Begin stirring the mixture for 3 minutes.

  • Then, allow fruit mix to stand for 5 minutes.

  • Use a ladle to spoon jam into can or freeze jars, freezer bags,or containers.

  • Leave ½ inch headspace.

  • Adjust two piece lids if using jars.

  • Label and freeze.

  • Yields about 5 pints.

    Using Home-Preserved Foods

    Do not thaw more food than is needed.

    Frozen food spoils more rapidly than fresh foods.

    Thawing in the refrigerator is the best method.

    You can thaw the strawberry freezer jam recipe at room temperature for 2 hours and then complete thawing in the refrigerator.

    When guidelines are followed making strawberry freezer jam,there should be little concern about the quality and safety of your homecanned foods.

    However, it is recommended to examine each jar before it is servedfor any changes that might have occurred.

    To open jars with vacuum sealed lids, release the vacuum with a canopener and lift off the lid.

    Do not serve any product that shows signs of spoilage.
