Powdery Mildew on my Cucumber Plants
by James
(Atwater, Ohio)
How do you get rid of powdery mildew on cucumber leaves?
ANSWER:
It's hard to get rid of it once it is established. If you catch it early, you can remove the infected leaves and get them away from the garden.
Some gardeners have success with spraying the cucumber leaves with a mixture of milk and baking soda.
Mix: 2 cups milk 3 tsp. baking soda 1 drop liquid dish soap (not dishwasher soap)
Mix together, and spray on the top and bottom side of the cucumber leaves.
To prevent powdery mildew: Water your garden in the morning so that the plant foliage is dry overnight. This helps a lot.
