Little White Worms in our Peas
by Beverly

Last year our peas had little white worms in the pods and they were eating the individual peas.
How can we avoid this problem this year? We plan to plant our peas in another part of our yard but should we do other things?
Answer:
Hi Beverly,
Sorry to hear about this. You are right to plant your peas in another location, as it is always good to rotate crops each year to help eliminate pest problems.
It would also be a good idea to call your local county extension agent and ask if they know which pest you are dealing with.
There might be a way to prevent this from occurring again by spraying the peas at the time that they are blooming.
I do not know which pest this is, as I have not experienced it in our garden (yet!)
Sorry I can't be of more help.
